Elbert Leland Sutherland and Nannie Johnston Sutherland. She was raised on a farm outside of Windsor, Missouri, the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Windsor High School and received music degrees from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri, and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. She married Kenneth Eugene Irwin in Windsor, Missouri, on June 1. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2. After their wedding, Janet and Kenneth moved from Missouri to Gruver, Texas, where Kenneth began a 5. Gruver State Bank and Janet became the music teacher in the Gruver public schools. Janet's teaching was interrupted while she raised four young children, but she resumed teaching music in Gruver public schools and continued teaching until 1. She enjoyed instilling the love of music in her students. Janet and Kenneth were active members of the Gruver United Methodist Church for 5. She directed the church choir for over 5. She had a beautiful voice and shared it with others. She was also a longtime member and past president of the Gruver Music Club. Janet served as Vice- Chairman of the Gruver State Bank and GSB Bancshares, Inc. Janet's family, music, and church were her life. She had the heart of a servant and faithfully gave all of herself to those around her. She was loved and admired by her family and friends. Survivors include her two sisters: Ruth Annetta Silver of Windsor, Missouri, and Jean Simmons of Mesa, Arizona; four children: a daughter, Debby Irwin Odom of Gruver and her children: Kenton Odom and wife, Jodi; Grant Odom; Jill Weller and husband, Ryan; and Dan Odom; a son, John S. Springfield, Colorado. Phyllis was raised in Springfield where she attended school, graduating from Springfield High School. Phyllis and Tommy Wayne Rasor were united in marriage on May 1. Phyllis and Tom owned and operated the Horseshoe Inn in Gruver, which Phyllis continued after Tom's death on November 1. She was an active member of the Gruver First Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
